Growing up with a family-owned furniture retailer that dates back to 1889, it was no surprise that Alex Wright entered the furniture industry shortly after graduating from Eastern Illinois University.
He did a one-year stint as an Ashley Furniture sales representative, then joined the family business in 2014 as marketing director. He was later promoted to vice president, where his duties include buying and merchandising. He also helped develop and manage the retailer’s private label Ultra Recline and Wright Sleep lines, as well as Wright’s Commercial division.
In addition, he is heavily involved with Wright’s Cares, the company’s philanthropic effort.
