DIY Wooden Tray – Erin Spain

I’m back with another simple woodworking project! This one is great for beginners and it’s budget-friendly too. I’m teaming up with my friends over at Kreg again, this time to bring you a tutorial for this DIY wooden tray.

You know I love easy projects, and this one is perfect for anyone just getting into woodworking, OR anyone who loves those cute decorative trays you see at HomeGoods and all the fun home decor stores but you want to make your own for a fraction of the cost. Plus, you can customize it to any dimensions or finish you like. I love adding personal touches to projects, like a custom stain or cute hardware.

I used my Kreg Jig 520PRO for this project, which I’m sure you know by now is my absolute favorite pocket hole jig. It’s portable, lightweight, and easy to use. Pocket hole joinery is the perfect way to join wood if you aren’t a seasoned woodworker with advanced joinery skills. It’s simple and it does the job.

I opted for a special walnut stain for this tray, and some simple brushed gold handles.
