Two high-end made-in-America furniture manufacturers merge in North Carolina

MORGANTON, N.C. – Made-in-America high-end furniture manufacturer Charleston Forge has acquired West Virginia-based case goods manufacturer MacKenzie-Dow.

The acquisition brings together two family-owned high-end domestic furniture manufacturers.  MacKenzie-Dow’s production will be moved to Charleston Forge’s facility in Morganton.

“We are excited about this merger of two respected companies in our industry and look forward to working with you as we develop new offerings,” said Dan Minor, Charleston Forge president.

New product is already planned for the fall.

“We introduced a limited selection of MacKenzie-Dow products at the April 2024 market in High Point, including pieces featured as part of our new Hemingway For The Home Collection,” Minor continued. “We have added these products to our catalog and price list and plan to have a significant introduction at this fall’s High Point Market.”

MacKenzie-Dow manufacturers case pieces for the bedroom, dining, occasional, office and entertainment categories. It also makes stools, benches and dining chairs.

In late 2023, Charleston Forge expanded into the kitchen and bath market with a new line of luxury vanities. The move was a natural extension the company said at the time, as its luxury glass division was gaining momentum in the kitchen and bath sector.
