Burton James debuts makes market debut as part of Made Goods

Upholstery resource Burton James is debuting under new ownership for HPMKT.

HIGH POINT — Burton James, a California-based upholstery resource, is coming to High Point Market under new ownership.

For the first time, Burton James will show product as one of Ardmore Home Design’s brands and be part of the company’s portfolio that also includes Made Goods, Pigeon & Poodle and Blue Pheasant. Owners Chris DeWitt and Oscar Yague, founders of AHD, noted that the new 8,000-plus-square-foot showroom will offer upholstery featuring “an extensive range of fresh designs and fabrics.”

“We are thrilled to introduce Burton James at High Point Market as part of our growing family of brands,” said DeWitt and Yague. “Burton James has an incredible legacy, and with its inclusion, we are reinforcing our commitment to providing the highest quality furniture for designers and their clients. This is an exciting milestone, not only for AHD, but also for the future of Burton James as we continue its tradition of excellence.”

The new owners said that Burton James is a cornerstone for interior designers seeking high-quality, handcrafted upholstery, with more than 40 years as a resource. They added that the debut at High Point Market represents a new chapter for Burton James under AHD’s leadership while staying true to its origins as a trusted name in luxury upholstery. The new showroom is directly across from the Bank on Wrenn.

The new Burton James showroom is on Wrenn Street in High Point.

Made Goods also is opening a new showroom in The New York Design Center in November. The brand’s new space will be located at 200 Lexington Ave., 16th floor, Suite 1600. Officials said the 5,300-square-foot showroom is designed to “provide an enhanced experience for clients, showcasing a wider selection of Made Goods’ signature pieces in a larger, more dynamic setting.”

The Made Goods’ family of brands is a privately owned and founder-led company located in the City of Industry, Calif. AHD designs, sells and distributes luxury home décor to interior designers, as well as boutique and luxury retailers globally, through five permanent showrooms across the country.
