All direct container, all promotional solid pine bedroom: BFG shines in its niche

Brazil Furniture Group released a handful of bedroom collections at Market. All are in solid pine.

HIGH POINT – When it comes to value and solid wood, Brazil Furniture Group says it has the best in the industry.

The company, also known as BFG, is highly specialized, with nearly 100% of its offering being solid pine promotional bedrooms that ship direct container. The company released a handful of new bedrooms at this week’s High Point Market. One, called Sturdy, is true to its namesake. It’s bigger and better built than the company’s usual product.

The new Sturdy bedroom collection.

“This collection is about us wanting to expand into beefier looks,” said Diorani Ferraz, export sales manager. “Bigger scale furniture is becoming more important for us. It also shows off more of our forte: wood.”

The collection sits at $699 for a queen bed at retail, putting it at the higher end of the company’s range. In total, 60 bedrooms are offered, all of which see a queen bed retailing between $450 and $700. Full collections, consisting of a queen bed, dresser, mirror and nightstand, retail between $999 and $1,599. Around 15 finishes are offered.

BFG is vertically integrated, meaning it controls its entire production. All the wood it uses comes from a 15,000-acre FSC-certified forest that it owns in Brazil. The company is the fusion of two Brazilian factories and employs around 1,300 workers across the two sites. The factories are highly automated, according to Ferraz, with lots of CNC machines and wood scanners.

Ferraz credited the company’s verticality for how it’s able to supply solid wood product at a more promotional price. “We own all our wood, and that’s the most expensive part. We’re not the cheapest, but when it comes to solid wood, we think we have the best value in the industry.”

All orders ship direct container from Brazil. From time of order, bedrooms will arrive to a buyer’s door within 60 days, which consists of 30 days of production and 30 days of travel time.

“Brazil is for sure another sourcing alternative,” said Ilton Rotta, company president. “It’s a friendly country and a near-shore option with great resources in solid wood furniture capabilities. Our presence in the U.S. market for more than two decades demonstrates this ability.”
