LEXINGTON, N.C. — For Giving Tuesday, which is celebrated on Dec. 3 this year, the Common Thread for the Cure Foundation is inviting the industry to support its efforts to help those affected by breast cancer with a donation.
The Foundation provides financial support through confidential grants to individuals affiliated with the design and furnishings industry. The donations offer relief in areas where insurance does not apply.
To date, the Foundation has awarded over $1.5 million in grants to nearly 400 deserving recipients throughout North America.
In addition to making a monetary donation on Giving Tuesday or any other time, here are other way to support The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation:
- If you know someone affiliated with the design and furnishings industry who is currently battling breast cancer, please tell them about The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation and the grants.
- As a company, or as an individual, donate funds for one
- Specify or purchase year-round sponsors’ designated products that benefit the
- Ask the company where you work to support The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation through financial contributions, sponsorship or a fundraising
- Attend, sponsor or volunteer at one or more of the industry fundraising events held throughout the United
- Spread awareness of The Common Thread for the Cure Foundation to friends, co-workers and companies within the design and furnishings

Another opportunity on Giving Tuesday is for the Seena Magowitz Foundation, which supports research and treatments for pancreatic cancer. This year, donate to its “Kay Kays $30 for 30” campaign, honoring the longest-living pancreatic cancer survivor Kay Kays. All donations support cancer research, clinical trials and Pancreatic Cancer Support of Survivorship.
