MESQUITE, Texas – Elements Sleep and Artaban Group, the Mexico-based mattress producer, have formed a strategic manufacturing partnership that expands Artaban’s reach and gives Elements additional manufacturing opportunities.
The partnership is a strategic move for Artaban, a family-owned mattress maker founded in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1991, in light of the antidumping petition filed against 13 countries, including Mexico filed this summer. Working the Elements International, the company’s mattresses designed for sale in the U.S. market will be made in the nearly 180,000-square-foot Mesquite, Texas, factory. Elements opened the factory in 2021, after expanding into the mattress category in 2020.
The antidumping petition could result in duties being placed on mattresses being sold into the U.S. from the 13 countries on the list.
“Our vertically integrated supply chain has allowed us unprecedented speed to market,” said Alejandro Rodriguez Jr., CEO of Artaban Group. “Where other manufactures take 60 to 90 days, we can have new products shipped within 30 days. Pouring foam, making pocket coils, continuous wire innersprings and FR fiber along with having a proficient cut-and-sew department gives us a competitive advantage. We are thrilled to partner with Elements International; our shared values and commitment to excellence make this partnership a perfect match. Offering domestic premium goods at competitive prices, together we will mark a new era in the bedding industry.”
The companies say the new collaboration will showcase the supply chain and manufacturing prowess of the Artaban team and will leverage the marketing, sales force and proprietary ButterflyGel technology of the Elements Sleep team.
“We had several companies approach us following the announcement of the tariffs at the summer Las Vegas Market, interested in working with our domestic mattress facility, but after understanding the capabilities and expertise of the Artaban team, I knew they were the right partner for us,” said Paul Comrie, CEO of Elements. “Their supply chain and manufacturing capabilities paired with Elements’ customer base, marketing efforts and sales force is going to make this partnership a huge success.”
Elements Sleep’s newly redesigned showroom in High Point, at 411 S. Main St., will showcase new mattresses produced by Artaban Group. Comrie said the redesigned sleep gallery will better position the bedding category in the showroom and shine a spotlight on the new partnership.
