HIGH POINT – High-end furniture, décor and antique supplier Asian Loft has announced a new 30,000-square-foot showroom in High Point, which will open in time for fall Market.
The new space, located at 625 W. Ward Ave. and previously home to companies including Henredon and Tommy Hilfiger, is double in size from its previous location on Main St. It also houses the company’s 20,000-square-foot warehouse, offering buyers the ability to quick-ship. The opportunity to have the showroom and warehouse adjacent was attractive, officials said.
“We’ve always been committed to offering distinctive, original works from around the world and now we have the space to present them in a way that’s as special as the pieces themselves,” said Steven Sonneville, Asian Loft owner. “We can showcase the craftsmanship of our collections from India, Indonesia, Morocco, Japan and China on an unprecedented scale.”
Sonneville also highlighted the significant improvements made to the space. “The process of working through how our space can accommodate an ever-changing array of products, both large and small, required a lot of adaptability in showroom design. We’ve revamped everything from how guests enter the showroom to how they interact with the vignettes.”
The company will host a grand opening event at 4 p.m., Oct. 24, inviting all market attendees to explore its new space. The showroom will be open for market Oct. 22-30, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. A shuttle is offered between the showroom and the market transportation terminal. Lunch will be served each day.
Founded in 2000 by Lieve Sonneville, who continues to lead the company alongside her son Steven, Asian Loft supplies one-off pieces and handcrafted finds from China, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Japan and China. It serves high-end retail furniture stores, boutique design establishments and interior design firms.
