DIY Doctor does a lot of things but we don’t really have our own books store – that’s what Amazon is for!! But we have had a look through Amazon and picked out a number of books that we think are good and comprehensive enough to support you with which ever DIY Project that you have got in mind. In this section of the website we have taken the time to layout these books for your ease (but as we don’t really have a bookstore, you’ll have to click through and buy then from Amazon).

We have produced several books of our own, Master Basic DIY and also Essential DIY Projects.
Master Basic DIY
Master Basic DIY is a great guide to how your house works. If you’re looking for any DIY book we recommend that you start here as this books is designed to give you a good understanding about why you are doing things in a certain way, rather than just making you follow instructions blindly. Obviously we hope that you keep your phone or tablet next to you while you’re doing your DIY so you can pore over great DIY advice from our thousands of advice pages, but some people aren’t like that. Some people prefer to hold a DIY book and be able to touch the page. And why not? There are lots of great DIY books that we are more than happy to recommend.
They are laid out in sections so that you can find what you are looking for quickly and easily. There is no shortage of good DIY books out there, so helping you to find the right one quickly is our main aim.
At this point in 2023, Master Basic DIY is now on it’s 4th edition and still going strong, its even been translated into Russian for the Eastern European market, making the author and DIY Doctor himself an international author, a fact of which Mike is very proud of.
Essential DIY Projects
Essentail DIY Projects really is a “does what it says on the tin” book. It is a trimmed down, bite-size read covering the main essential projects that anyone should carry out in their home.
This book is ideal for both those with a busy schedule or are new to the DIY world and just want to cut to the chase and get a job done.
