NEW YORK—Humanscale has introduced a new collection of ergonomic furniture aimed at enhancing productivity in “third spaces” like huddle rooms, cafés and open offices. The collection includes the Sedeo Stool, Trea Lite Task Chair and the Float Family of sit-to-stand desks, designed to support diverse work styles and settings.

According to the company, as workplaces become more collaborative and flexible, ergonomic design needs to move beyond the traditional desk.

“Workplaces are no longer confined to the traditional desk,” said Todd Bracher, Creative Director at Humanscale. “We’re reimagining how third spaces can be transformed into productive environments that deliver science-based ergonomics while meeting the demands of contemporary work.” Bracher also emphasized the importance of ergonomic support in all parts of the workplace.

  • The Sedeo Stool, designed by Don Chadwick, offers ergonomic support at bar and counter-height surfaces. “The design intent for the Sedeo Stool was conceived as a lightly scaled, ergonomic seating solution,” the designer said. He explained that the stool’s contours provide sacral support for proper posture, while its materiality and finish give it a strong identity.
  • The Trea Lite Task Chair, an evolution of the award-winning Trea Chair, offers a 12° recline and a contoured shell for lower back support. Its design allows for natural shifts in posture and is suitable for various environments, from work lounges to meeting rooms.
  • The Float Family includes height-adjustable desks designed for flexibility. From the Float Gather, a round table for collaboration, to the ultra-compact Float Micro, these desks offer ergonomic solutions in both formal and informal spaces.

“This collection is about elevating work, wherever it happens, and ensuring that best-in-class ergonomic support remains a fundamental aspect,” added Bracher.
