MEBANE, N.C. – Building on the success of its K2 by Kingsdown mattress lineup introduced last summer, Kingsdown is expanding the sub-brand with a complete latex offering.
K2 by Kingsdown Latex features six models across two collections: one hybrid and one all-foam grouping. Designed with a blend of latex and man-made materials, the mattress offers a pinhole design to help increase airflow for a cooler sleep experience. The new mattresses will be unveiled at next week’s Las Vegas Market.
“With latex, we’re able to achieve a specific feel that you can’t get from conventional foam,” said Frank Hood, president and CEO. “Our customers have been asking for a latex collection, so the Las Vegas summer market feels like the ideal place to debut it.”
Kingsdown rolled out the original K2 line last summer. The latex lineup offers a range of comfort feels and a combination of Talalay latex and cooling gel foam. Each mattress includes centi(GR)ade cooling strips to help pull heat away from the body.
Three hybrid models use an individually wrapped 800 coil system, and the foam models feature a motion base-conforming flex core with airflow channels. All six models contain spacer and zippered surround cooling covers for improved ventilation.
“The new line provides a luxurious feel on the surface of the mattress that otherwise is difficult to achieve,” Hood said. “Since latex was being asked for, we decided to present it in a new version of one of our most popular lines.”
Mattresses in the K2 Latex line are priced to retail from $2,799 to $3,199 in queen and can be seen in the Kingsdown showroom located at C-1401.
