Linon Powell promotes VP of sales, hires industry veteran to lead Western region

MINEOLA, N.Y. – Home furniture importer Linon Powell Home has promoted Chris Pittman to the role of senior vice president and national sales manager, effective Jan. 1 of this year.

Pittman has worked at Linon Powell for nearly 12 years, first as its vice president of sales for nine years and then as group vice president of its furniture division for two years. Prior to Linon Powell, he was an independent sales rep for 11 years.

“Linon is realigning a few people within the company so we can focus our efforts by division between brick furniture store accounts, mass accounts, and e-com,” Pittman told Furniture Today. “As senior vice president of sales, I will be heading the brick-and-mortar furniture store division.”

The company also hired industry veteran Ron Holliday as its vice president of sales for the Western U.S. and Canada region, a role that’s been vacant. Holliday comes from A-America, where he worked as sales manager for four years. Prior to that, he worked at Greenington for seven years as vice president of sales.

“Ron brings a tremendous enthusiasm for sales and a great mind for product knowledge, especially on the case goods side,” Pittman said. “From the day he joined us (on Jan. 1), Ron has made an impact with the company as he has already filled in some key spots in the Western side of the U.S. and Canada with true sales professionals. Ron has already opened up several new key dealers that we haven’t been selling in quite some time.”

Pittman and the company’s goal for 2024 is to ramp up product across the company’s categories.

“Last year, in a challenging economy, we increased our furniture store sales by more than 30%,” Pittman said. “A big part of this success has been from the improvements we have made in key product categories. In the past 12 months, we have added 15-plus dining sets to our selection, all with aggressive retail price points.

“We also introduced a new direct import program with master bedroom and motion upholstery. The goal for 2024 is to continue this success as we expand our product selection in these categories and become more important to our new and current customers.”
