I think it’s fairly common for us woodworkers to lose the connection between the things we make and the tree that made it possible. I’ve been watching Blair’s YouTube videos for about 10 years. If I remember correctly, after this video went viral, guitar player Gary Burnette made me watch it in his home studio one day after a session. I was hooked.
A few years ago, I met Blair at Fine Woodworking Hands-On in San Diego. Blair was there to take a class with Michael Fortune and I was star struck running into him in the hallway. Blair is an arborist by trade and a talented woodworker by passion. His videos connect the two worlds for me like nothing else I’ve found.
