Merger of 2 Northwest mattress companies gives Spring Air new licensee

WOBURN, Mass. – Following the recent merger of Everton Mattress and Sound Sleep Products, Spring Air International has added the latter company to its roster of 14 domestic licensees.

The addition is the result of Washington-based Sound Sleep’s merger with Idaho’s Everton Mattress. Everton has been a Spring Air’s licensee since 2022 and has served Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming and Montana. The merged company is Everton Mattress Factory Northwest.

Founded in 1994, Sound Sleep, based in Lacey, Wash., is owned by CEO John Larsen. Everton Mattress Factory began as a small bedding company in Logan, Utah, in 1924. Today, the company’s manufacturing is based in Filer, Idaho, and was owned by Chris Sanders and his family.

“Acquiring an interest in Everton Mattress made perfect sense due to the tremendous synergy between our companies. Combining forces to capitalize on the best of Sound Sleep and Everton Mattress makes us both stronger and creates a regional powerhouse, enabling us to utilize the sales and marketing expertise of Chris Sanders, while expanding distribution and improving service to all customers in the region while consolidating redundant functions,” Larsen said.

The merger strengthens the company’s manufacturing, in addition to enhancing product innovation and expanding Spring Air’s brand presence, Sanders said.

Our retail partnerships will thrive as a result of this milestone.”

Throughout the last several years, Spring Air has been growing its domestic network, as well as its international licensing footprint.

“We are happy for Sound Sleep and Everton Mattress joining together to create a real juggernaut in a very strategic region of the country,” said Nick Bates, president and CEO of Spring Air. “We look forward to working with John Larsen, Chris Sanders and their respective teams to deepen the penetration of our brand in their territory.”
