BROOKLYN, N.Y. — West Elm, part of Top 100 Williams-Sonoma Inc., is collaborating with fashion tastemaker and children’s author Eva Chen for a 34-piece collection featuring furniture, textiles, lighting and decorative accessories.
“Eva has fantastic taste and is acutely aware of what parents want for a kid’s room: products that are highly functional while maintaining great style,” said Day Kornbluth, president of West Elm. “She is also kind, collaborative and a pleasure to work with.”
Select items within the new Eva Chen for West Elm collaboration were fashioned specifically to store children’s books and to encourage reading. The Lofted bed features a reading nook, the Chair and a Half sits two comfortably, and the Tent floor cushion provides a cozy spot to curl up with a good book. The Arched Reading bookcase sits perfectly low for children to easily select their book of choice.
“There are nods to literacy and the love of books woven throughout. The Arched Reading bookcase is intended for kids to literally kick up their feet and read,” Chen said. “The capsule is a little bit quirky, not centered around being too perfect and ultimately super livable.”
Additional key items in the new Eva Chen for West Elm collection include the Play table and stool set, the Save-As storage shelf, the Playful Shapes rug and the Rolling Art easel.
