SANTA ANA, Calif. — Behr Paint Co. has proclaimed its Color of the Year for 2025: Rumors, a deep and dynamic ruby red.
Red is trending up, trend experts say, and Behr said its own newest research revealed that “a majority of Americans feel energized by the use of the color red in home design.” It also found that three-fourths (76%) of Americans say they would consider painting a room or a wall a shade of red, with accent walls, bedrooms and front doors at the top of their wish lists.
“We’re seeing people embrace color like never before,” said Erika Woelfel, vice president of color and creative services for the paint company. “Rumors is a modern take on the timeless red that creates an energetic appeal to make a lasting statement in a stunning way.”
Behr is hosting a sweepstakes on Instagram and TikTok to celebrate Rumors, with a prize of $10,000 to help the winner “make a statement in their home using Rumors.”
