See which manufacturer is bringing made-in-Italy leather upholstery to High Point Market

HIGH POINT — Buyers on the hunt for made-in-Italy leather seating have a new option at High Point Market, and it might surprise visitors to a particular showroom.

Several exclusive top-grain Italian leather seating groups will be front and center in the Furniture of America showroom for the October market, along with new exclusive chenille boucle fabric groups featuring subtle, metallic undertones. A full line furniture resource headquartered in California, Furniture of America has more than 2 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space in California, Texas, Georgia and New Jersey.

The Opulenza Signature collection is handcrafted by craftsmen in Italy, officials said, adding that the five groups feature modern designs in both transitional and contemporary styles in both stationary and power motion sofas and loveseats. Starting retail is $5,999 for a sofa and loveseat with 100% coverage — no match — in Italian top-grain leather with power motion.

“It’s an unbelievable value for our partners, and these sets can retail for much higher price points due to the beauty, quality and construction of this line,” said Jodi Brookshire, corporate vice president sales and marketing.

FOA is also debuting a new upholstery group featuring an exclusive boucle fabric with subtle metallic undertones.

Furniture of America is also introducing four different contemporary-styled frames in three color options (white, charcoal gray and black) that feature the new exclusive chenille boucle fabric. The frames are kiln dried hardwood, corner blocked, nailed and glued, and feature no-sag sinuous spring, eight-gauge steel, webbing back frame with foam and sinuous spring in 11-gauge steel.

  • Versoix is a compact, kidney-shaped single cushion sofa and loveseat with curved arms and “barely there” wooden legs.

  • Aversa is also a contemporary set with vertical channel tufting that covers the single seat and back. Stuffed arms and cushioning wrap the whole piece.
  • Verdal is a tuxedo-inspired contemporary design with a box seat cushion, welt trim, high density foam with pocketed coils and wooden legs.

All the seating features high-density foam and pocketed coils, officials said, and all four of the groups retail starting at $1,999 for a sofa and loveseat.
