HIGH POINT — Showcasing benchmade upholstery and performance fabrics, Universal Furniture and Crypton Home Fabric are inviting interior designers to take the Sit and Sip test at this week’s High Point Market.
The Sit and Sip test will be held for four days 1-3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 13, through Monday, Oct. 16, at the Universal showroom at 101 S. Hamilton, and champagne and wine will be served. Participants will have the opportunity to experience Universal’s plush upholstered seating, learn the construction story and put Crypton performance fabric through a spill test using Coke and a highlighter.
Universal invites participants, who will receive 10% off their first Universal benchmade upholstery order, to capture memorable moments by taking photos and sharing them on social media with the tag @UniversalFurn.
“Our Sit and Sip test offers interior designers the chance to personally experience the exceptional quality of Universal Furniture’s Special Order Upholstery Program,” said Neil MacKenzie, senior vice president marketing at Universal Furniture. “Bench made right here in North Carolina with superior craftsmanship, luxe materials and attention to detail, our program rivals any custom upholstery maker in the state.”
Universal’s special order upholstery program is manufactured in Conover, N.C., with more than 70% of all frames made in-house. More than 400 fabric options are available in the program, including more than 100 performance fabrics, along with 50 leather choices and three cushion fill options. Universal’s special-order upholstery ships within six to eight weeks.
“Crypton fabrics are designed for the indoors which gives you the soft and pretty fabrics you want in your home with the added bonus of having our eco-friendly stain and odor resistance which makes cleaning easy for everyday life,” said Elise Gabrielson, vice president marketing at Crypton.
