TORONTO – Canadian minimalist furniture and lighting brand Hollis + Morris has introduced a new coffee table, lounge chair and sofa.
The Levee coffee table, which retails for $3,500, is substantial and supportive, according to the company, with three stalwart solid wood legs that rise up to meet the top of the table. The reeingineered piece is inspired by the “resilience of a levee supporting a floodplain.”
In addition to the new coffee table, Hollis + Morris is offering other living room pieces, including the Shoal lounge chair, which retails for $4,350, and the Riverside sofa, which retails for $17,500.
Designed to be like a solid ridge rising from the seabed, the Shoal lounge chair includes a sheltering backrest that rises from the chair’s seat. Continuing the river theme, the new Riverside sofa has a solid frame that peeks out from behind the fabric along with “ample cushions that meander and mold to provide flexibility and flow,” according to the company.
Designer Mischa Couvrette founded Hollis + Morris a decade ago with a strong commitment to environmental sustainability.
All light fixtures, furniture and accessories are assembled in the company’s Toronto manufacturing facility. All wood pieces are made with FSC-certified solid wood that is native to the surrounding area in Toronto in order to minimize the company’s material footprint.
