Traditional oak and sophisticated cherry – Hooker adds two new whole home collections for Market

HIGH POINT – Hooker Furniture will introduce two new major whole home collections at the upcoming High Point Market: Americana, a traditional oak group, goes after the heirloom look and feel, while the cherry veneer-crafted  Bella Donna is meant to be sophisticated and transitional.

Each collection has its own distinct personality and is designed to appeal to a variety of consumers across many geographic regions, says Hooker.

“Each market season we work very hard to offer balance and variety in our styling relative to prior markets with the goal of appealing to as many consumers as possible,” said Mike Harris, president of Hooker case goods and upholstery. “For October, each collection draws from very distinct design eras, blending classic aesthetics with today’s functionality to create two looks that will resonate with a broad spectrum of our customers.

“Americana is a celebration of our rural heritage that reflects the character, strength, and natural beauty of a simpler time, while Bella Donna offers a sophisticated, transitional look that offers a timeless elegance,” he continued.

Americana offers bedroom, dining, entertainment, accent and occasional items with a focus on reimagined history. The line features three core finishes – Daisy, Honey, and Molasses – as well as assorted accent finishes with decorative artwork. Design elements include parquet tabletops, two-tone finishes, architectural arched details, seeded glass and antique mirrors. Hardware includes classic bale-style and hand-hammered metal hardware, both in a muted brass tone finish.

Bella Donna is meant to channel Sophia Loren’s style as its focus. It appeals to the classic consumer says Hooker, maybe those with a little “edge” to their design style. Caviar, the primary finish for Bella Donna, has a deep translucent tone, and Akoya, representing pure white pearls, is the accent finish. Design details include reeding on select pieces that Hooker says create a “curtain effect.” Hardware is finished in a champagne color.

Hooker will also offer several design-centric events in its Showplace showroom as part of its new Designer’s Theatre programming:
