HENDERSON, N.C. – As it grand opens the final group of Big Lots locations it acquired earlier this year, Variety Wholesalers is considering taking on more sites.
The company will conduct the fourth and final wave of its store reopenings on June 5 at 78 locations. The stores are located in Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.

“The success of the series of reopenings has spurred Variety Wholesalers to explore options for acquiring additional Big Lots locations, further signaling their commitment to the brand’s long-term growth and expansion,” Variety Wholesalers announced.
The new Big Lots stores are stocked with closeouts and “unbeatable bargains” across apparel, home and other categories.
Variety Wholesalers acquired the Big Lots brand from Gordon Brothers, which bought Big Lots’ assets out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this year. The company also owns and operates 380 stores in the Southeastern U.S. under the Roses, Roses Express, Maxway, Bill’s Dollar Stores, Super 10, Super Dollar and Bargain Town banners.
