Consumer response to split-head mattresses has been so positive since Bedding Industries of
America (BIA) introduced its first Eclipse Glacier Black Ice mattress one year ago, the manufacturer has announced
it is expanded its line-up to five collections that will be center stage in its showroom (B-1118) at the Summer Las
Vegas Market.
“Consumers prioritize customization, especially when it comes to their sleep experience. Adjustable bases laid
the groundwork for the split-head trend, but it was only the start,” said Phillip Carlitz, BIA’s chief
operating officer. “The introduction of the Eclipse Glacier Black Ice mattress catapulted our split-head bed
offering, and since then the segment has emerged as one of our most rapidly growing sectors, with dealers reporting
exceptional sell-through rates.”
In Las Vegas, BIA’s split-head line-up spotlights the Eclipse Glacier Black Ice Collection, crafted with a
foam-encased pocket-coil support system and a quilted, taped cover. It features cooling fibers in the fabrics that
keep out heat and moisture, as well as cooling components within the mattress (copper visco, nano coils and natural
latex) to provide a cooling sleep all year long. Further, it incorporates BIA’s proprietary ultra-HD
Lifedge® foam encasement system, meaning the mattress is roll-packable and shippable via UPS or FedEx.
There are three levels to the Eclipse Glacier Black Ice Collection: C (Copper), CN (Copper and Nano Coils), and LN
(Latex and Nano Coils).
Black Ice Copper-Nano is crafted with two inches of naturally anti-bacterial, anti-odor and moisture-wicking
copper-infused visco, as well as over 1,000 one-inch nano coils. The quilted cover is made with ICE-Cool™
fabric.
Black Ice Latex-Nano is crafted with pocketed coils surrounded by targeted layers of 100 percent natural Talalay
latex that provides durability, pressure relief and breathability. One thousand nano coils add further comfort,
pressure relief and support, and the quilted cover made with ICE-Cool™ fabric with glacier COOL™
technology keeps sleepers cool throughout the night.
Additionally, the Embrace Sleep Collection offers a three-model line of split-head king and queen beds in 8-inch,
10-inch and 12-inch heights. The mattresses are constructed using Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS)-certified
Dunlop latex encased in a zipper cover crafted from stretch knit spandex cotton. The Embrace is a natural collection
featuring inherent FR rayon that is Greenguard Gold certified and chemical free.
“We pride ourselves on innovation, and split-heads have become one of our most important developments. There is
no question the category is destined to dominate the bedding market moving forward,” added Carlitz.
