BOSTON — Wayfair is countering Amazon’s two-day Prime Day event with its own four-day Black Friday in July sale.
The event, which launches at midnight Eastern time July 26 and runs through July 29, will take place across all of Wayfair’s brands online, via its app and in its brick-and-mortar stores. In-person shopping will take place at the new Wayfair store near Chicago and at the AllModern in Massachusetts, Joss & Main in Illinois and Massachusetts and Birch Lane locations in Tampa and Naples, Fla.
“We are excited to bring a Black Friday sale to our customers this July, with our best deals since Way Day,” said Jon Blotner, chief commercial officer. Similar to Prime Day, Wayfair is positioning this event for back-to-school shoppers as well as those who are looking for business and home items such as rugs, mattresses, indoor and outdoor furniture and appliances.
Along with free shipping, Wayfair is offering discounts of up to 80% off. There will also be flash deals dropping every 24 hours and limited-quantity doorbusters.
