Presti made the rounds demoing their generative-AI imagery solution to the furniture industry.
HIGH POINT — Attendees at the just-concluded fall High Point Market certainly got their steps in, and the team from digital imaging startup Presti.ai are no exception.
Although their solution deploys cutting edge generative AI technology, Presti.ai co-founders Nabil Toumi and Hamza Bennis, along with founder associate Damir Babacic, relied on old-fashioned face-to-face interaction as they met with furniture companies and demoed their tool.
Presti.ai provides a quick pipeline to transform a product silhouette into a photorealistic lifestyle image. The company says it offers a cost-effective means to create engaging and authentic marketing visuals on a scale that would be impossible with traditional photoshoots or rendering.
Bennis tells Furniture Today that manufacturers showing at market were very receptive to this pitch. “We realized that, although everyone knows AI exists, they are not necessarily aware that it can simplify the way the create their imagery,” he said.
“All of the companies were impressed by the demo we showed them, and High Point was very useful for us as we were able to give that ‘wow effect’ from showing the product in person. It allowed us to be very efficient.”
Bennis added that Presti benefitted from the networking possibilities within the industry that High Point Market enabled.
“People also spread the word and recommended that we meet with their other contacts,” he recalled. “This is really a relationship business. Even though I’m a rookie in the industry, people were very welcoming. High Point will definitely lead to some very good results for us.”
Bennis observed that companies also appreciated a solution tailored specifically for home furnishings and design. “People responded well because they see that we bring a lot of value with our product, but also we’re not overselling. We know what our product is worth and what it can do.”
Although the wider furniture industry is moving to embrace new technologies, the Presti team noticed that a few holdouts remain who rely on old-fashioned ways of doing things, both in terms of networking and business operations.
Babacic believes that the High Point Market provided an opportunity to break through with this segment of the industry.
“With a bunch of these companies, we would never have been able to get to them if it wasn’t for High Point,” he said. “Some of them have no (or limited) websites. Some have no public profiles and no LinkedIn profiles. But by coming here, we were able to meet them and show our solution.”
Toumi said he was impressed by the sheer scale of the market, which allowed them to forge new contacts and leads as they explored High Point.
“I didn’t expect something this big!” he exclaimed.
“We went to the Las Vegas market. “That was already big, but High Point is just huge. We discovered new areas and new companies every day. It was great to be here.”
