HIGH POINT – Whole home furniture supplier Bernards will expand its youth and teen bedroom furniture offerings for the upcoming High Point Market. The company entered the category last fall with three collections.
This spring, Bernards will expand its better-selling Elure collection to feature twin and full beds and mid-sized cases in both a warm brown and black finish. It will also expand its top-selling 100-piece Citrus Heights collection and its new Pleasant Hill collection, which is offered in ebony and ivory colors.
“Having spent time shopping for our own home a couple years ago, it quickly became apparent there was a void in the marketplace,” said President Micah Swick. “We found plenty of inexpensive well-styled products for small children, but better-quality goods for teens and second bedrooms were dated, traditional American designs reminiscent of what Stanley was offering 15 to 20 years ago. Our kids weren’t interested. Teens today are more fashion conscious than ever before.”
Counting each color option, the introductions bring Bernards teen bedroom offerings to a total of nine. All groups feature ball-bearing drawer guides, felt lined top drawers, cedar lined bottom drawers, fully finished drawer boxes and USB-power-equipped nightstands. Bernards also offers daybeds, captain’s beds and a promotional bunkbed.
Retail price points are $499 to $599 for a twin bed, Swick said.
In addition to Bernards last fall, other suppliers to enter the youth category or expand its offerings in the category included Legacy Classic, American Woodcrafters and My Home Furnishings.
