Green Chair Project brings back annual ‘Chairity’ event for 2024

RALEIGH, N.C. — The Green Chair Project is set to host its annual fundraising event, Chairity, from Sept. 18-20, an event that is central to the organization’s mission of providing essential household items to families in need.

Chairity 2024 will feature 15 curated rooms designed by local interior designers, showcasing donated products from the home furnishings industry. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase items from these spaces and bid on twelve unique chairs reimagined by local designers.

“Well-equipped homes are essential for health and stability, preventing homelessness and fostering wellbeing,” said Rae Marie Czuhai, CEO of The Green Chair Project. “Chairity, our largest fundraising event, provides the crucial resources we need to ensure every child has a bed of their own and every family has the essential household items needed to make a house a home. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, designers and donors for creating an opportunity for the community to ‘shop for good.’”

The reimagined chairs will be on display at Artspace in Downtown Raleigh from Sept. 6-8, with online bidding starting on Sept. 16. The event aims to furnish 1,200 households and provide 1,440 children with beds in 2024.

Lenovo and Wells Fargo are the presenting sponsors for this year’s event, with support from various community and business donors. All proceeds from Chairity 2024 will support The Green Chair Project’s efforts to create stable, well-equipped homes for families, aligning with the organization’s broader goal of fostering health and preventing homelessness.
