NORTH LIMA, Ohio — Sheely’s Furniture & Appliance here raised more than $8,000 in its second quarter fundraising drive and presented the proceeds to Believe in Dreams.
This fundraising event was held at both the Aurora and North Lima locations. Sheely’s provided matching funds for every donation received and incentivized customers to donate by providing a $100 off a $1,000 or more purchase. In all, it gathered $8,055.32.
“Believe in Dreams fosters hope in the hearts and souls of socially challenged children in such a caring and giving way. Sheely’s is pleased to confirm their good work with this fundraising drive,” said owner Jessica Smith. “In our 70-plus years in business in the region, giving back to our community is always in the forefront of why we do what we do. Helping the region’s disadvantaged children is such an honor.”
The mission of Believe in Dreams is to fulfill dreams of youth who are economically disadvantaged and have survived non-medical adversity by providing access to enriching opportunities, connection to community and hope for the future. Nominated by professional adults such as teachers or social workers, acceptance is based on criteria such as something the youth dreams of learning that they haven’t had the opportunity to learn, or somewhere locally they dream of going they’ve never been.
