HIGH POINT — Luxury manufacturer Jensen Outdoor gave its showroom on the first floor of the International Home Furnishings Center a new look this spring, aiming to invite the design crowd to experience its unique, ipe wood-based products.

“My goal in designing the showroom was to set it up so that you hear the sound of the space as you walk by, so we’ve got music going,” Marketing Director Phillip Crowe told Furniture Today. “Then buyers can turn to look at what that is, look up and see our cathedral ceiling, which draws their eyes to the brand name.”

Crowe added that the products on the floor also aim to invite design buyers to experience the material story that Jensen’s product line tells.

‘s Tempo “chairway to heaven”

“We try and demonstrate the value of our approach, so the materiality of the surfaces, drawing attention to our use of wood, reinforces the brand story in a way that goes beyond just the furniture,” he said.

One especially eye-catching feature of the new showroom look is what Crowe lightheartedly calls the “chairway to heaven,” with Jensen’s tempo chairs arranged in different colors on ascending platforms.

While the uncertain business environment has had an impact, Crowe said buyer sentiment has been generally positive.

“Buyers seem confident in placing orders; although some are more confident than others,” he said. “For the designers especially, a project is a project, so we want to be able to meet their needs.

“Overall the conversations have been very positive,” he continued, noting that many have inquired about setting up trade accounts. “Right now, because of where we source from — Bolivia and Vietnam — we haven’t set a price increase because of the 90-day pause. So that is some incentive for them to order more quickly.”

One notable 2025 introduction that Crowe said is seeing good traction with design buyers is the Velo seating collection, made of handwoven Solara fiber.

Velo swivel chair

“We’re showing a captain’s chair as well as a swivel, and we’re showing that in a way that I think really highlights the frame. The design buyers have been really excited by it,” he said.

Jensen Outdoor’s High Point showroom is located in the IHFC, space IH-308.
