PITTSBURGH — Top 100 retailer John V Schultz/Levin Furniture & Mattress revealed plans to open three Ashley stores in a pair of key markets.
Co-CEO John Schultz told Furniture Today that the retail group, which includes Levin Furniture and John V Schultz Furniture, has plans to open two Ashley stores in the greater Pittsburgh market, hopefully by Labor Day, and is in the early stages of adding an Ashley store to the Youngstown, Ohio, market.
Schultz said the Pittsburgh stores will both be in the 35,000-square-foot range and like all new Ashley stores, will be in the Ashley 7.0 model. When open, they will join one Ashley store and one Ashley Outlet already in the market. He said the company sees plenty of potential in the Steel City.
“We’ll probably end up adding at least one or two more in the market,” Schultz said. “We’re continuing to look at the Pittsburgh market for more Ashley stores on top of these two.”
Schultz said when it opens, the Youngstown store will double the Ashley presence in that market.
The addition of those stores will give the company 31 showrooms across all three of its brands, and Schultz said he anticipates continued growth for the Levin brand as well.
“We’re still continuing to grow the Levin brand,” he said. “We’re looking to add one more in the Pittsburgh DMA and two more in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton market.”
