LOS ANGELES — Joybird, a subsidiary of La-Z-Boy, has introduced a mobile-friendly upgrade to its 3D Space Planner, an interactive design tool that connects the in-store and digital shopping experiences for its customers and interior designers.
Powered by 3D Cloud, the updated tool allows users to create, access and share room designs on mobile devices. Joybird says the latest tool underscores its commitment to delivering a personalized end-to-end design and shopping experience across channels.
“The demand for a seamless mobile experience was clear, with at least 70% of our traffic coming from mobile devices,” said Gerardo Ornelas, vice president and general manager for Joybird. “This enhancement means that customers and associates can stay connected in real-time, with immersive 3D tools that truly bring designs to life, whether they’re collaborating in a showroom or at home.”
The mobile version enables users to review and share room designs and Joybird furniture combinations from their phones. Augmented reality functionality provides the ability to visualize furniture in their own spaces, offering insights into scale and fit without requiring a desktop or laptop.

The updated 3D Space Planner also introduces a new texture format, reducing file sizes while maintaining visual quality. Users can explore a wide catalog of customizable furniture options, including various colors, materials and styles, all optimized for mobile functionality.
