WASHINGTON — TikTok got another reprieve yesterday, ensuring that some 170 million TikTok followers can continue to explore home décor trends including everything from thrift shop finds to granny chic, at least throughout the summer.
With the announcement that President Donald Trump will sign an executive order delaying enforcement of the sale-or-ban TikTok law by an additional 90 days, the China-based social media app will continue with business as usual.
“President Trump will sign an additional Executive Order this week to keep TikTok up and running,” Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary, said in a statement. “As he has said many times, President Trump does not want TikTok to go dark. This extension will last 90 days, which the administration will spend working to ensure this deal is closed so that the American people can continue to use TikTok with the assurance that their data is safe and secure.”
The announcement on Tuesday is Trump’s third extension of the ban.
