NORFOLK, Va. – Paramount Sleep and two of its retail partners along with industry suppliers have teamed up to provide sleep products to communities in the South impacted by hurricanes earlier this year.

Retailers Bed’r Mattress, with four stores in the Knoxville, Tenn., area and Sleep USA with stores in Franklin, N.C.; Sylva, N.C.; and Murphy, N.C., are helping manage the distribution of the products to those in need.

Industry suppliers, including Hickory Springs, Future Foam and Carpenter Co. have either donated materials or provided them at reduced costs to help.

The Southeast was hit late September and early October with back-to-back hurricanes that devastated much of the region.

“The response from our industry partners has been remarkable,” said Richard Fleck, president of Paramount Sleep. “When communities are in crisis, it’s vital that those who can, step up to help. The collaborative spirit shown by our retail partners and suppliers speaks to the character and power of the bedding industry.”

To date, the initiative has provided more than 100 mattresses to affected families, with expectations for continued support as communities rebuild over the next three to six months. Mattresses are being provided either at no cost or at a nominal fee, regardless of size.

“A quality mattress is critical to sleep, and Paramount and its partners want to provide that essential item to the weary,” Fleck said.
