NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Specialty home décor retailer Kirkland’s is experiencing problems with its online order fulfillment after the company’s 771,000-square-foot e-commerce fulfillment center in Jackson, Tenn., suffered damage from a tornado on May 20.
In a statement to customers, CEO Amy Sullivan wrote that, while the employees are safe, “the storm damaged a portion of our building resulting in temporary disruptions to online orders and making a large portion of our inventory unavailable to ship directly to home.”
A news report from Fox 13 in Memphis said a tornado that touched down outside of Jackson ripped the roof off the distribution center. Fire Chief Eric Turner of the Jackson County Fire Department told the news station about 75 employees were in the building at the time of the incident.

“Managers did a great job of getting them sheltered as soon as they went under the tornado warning,” Turner told Fox 13. “They probably kept some people from getting hurt by the debris flying through the building.”
Sullivan said teams at Kirkland’s “are working around the clock to restore normal operations as quickly — and as safely — as possible.”
In 2023, Kirkland’s closed two other e-commerce fulfillment centers in North Las Vegas and on Winchester, Va., and consolidated operations at the Jackson site.
In her note, Sullivan urged customers to shop at Kirkland’s stores or to shop online and use the buy online, pick up in-store option. The company also is offering a special 20% offer to its customer throughout June.
