HIGH POINT – Three major mattress companies have returned to the High Point Market with showrooms giving a boost to the bedding category here in a way that sleep business hasn’t seen since the early 2000s.

Purple Innovation, Bedding and have all taken showroom spaces in the International Home Furnishings Center. This marks the first time Purple has shown in High Point, while Serta Simmons and Tempur have both previously held showrooms here in years past. Sealy also has a showroom at its Archdale, N.C., factory, about 10 minutes from the epicenter of High Point Market.

Tempur Sealy’s space on the 9th floor of IHFC’s Main wing is dedicated to the Ashley Home retailers shopping the market with special point-of-purchase materials and dedicated product, including the new Posturepedic line introduced earlier this year. With buying power of about $6 billion, the Ashley Home stores are a powerful draw. All three companies – Purple, SSB and Tempur Sealy – are on the Ashley Home vendor list.

In its new 6,000-square-foot showroom on the 10th floor of the Wrenn wing of IHFC, Serta Simmons is showing its newest Beautyrest Black and Serta Perfect, including its Baselogic adjustable bed base program.

Tom Stiffler, territory manager for SSB on the West Coast, said the company’s new showroom is designed to connect with retailers where they shop. The company also returned to the in 2023 with new showrooms for its brands after taking a hiatus at the height of the pandemic in 2020.

Purple’s showroom is located on IHFC’s 7th floor Main.

Over the years, mattress companies have moved most of their market power to the Las Vegas Market where companies tend to bring their largest introductions to the January event. Simmons, Serta and Tempur-Pedic were among the inaugural bedding companies that signed on for the first Las Vegas Market in 2005.

In addition to Purple, SSB and Tempur Sealy, made a return to the High Point landscape this market after four years away.
