HIGH POINT — Architect Suchi Reddy will deliver the inaugural Design, Art & Science Symposium keynote address in The Loft at Congdon Yards.
The symposium is set for the day before High Point Market opens, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Oct. 13.
Reddy, founder of New York-based Reddymade Architecture, Design & Public Art , will present “Form Follows Feeling,” an exploration of how the field of neuroaesthetics translates to the design practice and how practitioners will implement neuro-inclusive design into their projects, from retail to residential spaces.
The first CEU-accredited symposium of its kind will reveal how and why living environments affect human health and well-being, featuring leading academics and experts in the fields of science and design. Topics covered throughout the full-day event include neuroaesthetics, cognitive architecture, biophilia, and the evolutionary imperative for beauty.
Participants will take away nine Health, Safety and Wellness (HSW) CEU credits, along with evidence-based findings to inform design projects, product development and more.
Doors open at 7 am for networking, with breakfast provided. Following the symposium, registered attendees are invited to a “Meet the Speakers” Cocktail Mixer hosted by interior designer Angela Harris in partnership with Phillips Collection, located at 135 S. Main St., starting at 5:30 pm.
