Canton Fair highlights new tech trends in home furnishings


GUANGZHOU, China — The latest technology in the home furnishings sector took center stage at the second phase of the 135th China Import and Export Fair (also known as the Canton Fair), which got underway on April 23 and is set to last for five days.

This phase of the event spotlighted “Housewares, Gifts & Decorations, Building & Furniture.”

Oppein Home Group brought its customizable home solutions to this year’s fair. The company aims to address functionality and quality in line with contemporary design trends with items including its kitchen cabinet Zone, featuring an integrated dining island design with a light interactive platform.

The company says this approach caters to the aesthetic preferences of Generation Z.  It also provides ample storage space and accommodates appliances such as steam ovens and built-in refrigerators, while also organizing small electrical appliances efficiently.

Shenzhen Zhongshen Bedding Technology comes to the fair with products such as eco-friendly glue-free mattresses, smart mattresses which the company says utilize AI technology and natural wool mattresses. The company says its AI intelligent mattress series adapts instantly to users’ body characteristics, offering vibration and sound waves.

Another company bringing innovations to this year’s fair is Zhejiang Anji Yongfeng Furniture, which specializes in the design, development, manufacturing and sales of office chairs and sofas for the mid-to-high-end market. This year, it introduced high-end office chairs and sofas with dual- back ergonomic designs adjustable across four heights. These chairs also feature two-position self-weight back support trays.
