NEW YORK — Jamie Stern Furniture, Carpet, Leather & Fabric has opened submissions for its third annual Furniture Design Contest, inviting interior designers in the U.S. and Canada to submit their ideal lounge chair concepts for a chance to have them prototyped. Entries are open through April 27.
The contest is open to all professional designers, who can submit a CAD drawing, 3D rendering or pencil sketch with dimensions and a design intent statement. A panel of judges — Silvia Castañeda of Rockwell Group, Patricia Lopez of Baskerville and Sara Talleux of KTGY Chicago — will select two grand prize winners, who winners will receive a fully upholstered prototype of their design, with potential for production.
“Now in our third year of hosting the contest, we’ve seen incredible work come from both long established and new professionals alike, showing the wide range of talented creatives at work in the design world today,” said founder Jamie Stern. “We’re excited to continue to foster innovation in design and look forward to seeing what unique takes on the lounge chair can look like.”
The company, celebrating 40 years in business, emphasizes collaboration with designers in both custom and in-house furniture development. More details and submission guidelines are available here.
