HIGH POINT — The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame Foundation will celebrate 28 individuals and organizations being honored with engraved bricks in the Pathways of Honor on Saturday, April 26, from 5 to 6 p.m. at 311 S. Hamilton St.
The ceremony, held during High Point Market, will center around the Wanek Family and Ashley Furniture Industries Eternal Flame. A brief Roll Call acknowledging honorees will begin at 5:15 p.m., but the hourlong event allows attendees to come and go amid busy market schedules.
“Honoring someone with a brick in the Pathways of Honor is the perfect way to permanently remember the person who made an impact on your life at the place where the industry gathers,” said Karen McNeill, CEO and chairman of the board of directors. “We see, over and over, visitors who stop to talk about the people named on the bricks. It just can’t be explained until you experience it yourself.”
McNeill added that the Eternal Flame provides a moment of stillness during the bustling Market and a space to reflect on the industry’s contributors. “We are better as an industry when we gather to honor others,” she said.
