ITASCA, Ill. — Top 100 retailer Walter E. Smithe’s plans for Florida expansion got a little clearer this week as it revealed plans for its distribution network in the Sunshine State.
The Itasca, Ill.-based retailer announced its 24,000-square-foot boutique distribution center in Fort Myers is open and will be managed by David Rouley, who previously managed the dock at Walter E. Smithe’s Chicago distribution center.
The center will serve the entire state of Florida, and Smithe will eventually move to a larger, permanent distribution center after its showroom in Naples opens later this year.
The retailer began local white glove delivery service in the Florida market earlier this year.
